Our presenters, Dave Collett and Danny Olson of Weber Shandwick, will will delve into the origins of fake news and follow its trajectory, providing the latest information on how it is permeating our profession and the impact it is having on how we operate. Specifically, the presentation will focus on the following topics:

  • the changing definition and usage of the term “fake news”
  • how fake news impacts real news, challenging the credibility and the influence of genuine media outlets
  • the rise and impact of automated online message dissemination
